About Sophia Westfall:

Sophia Westfall is currently earning her Masters in Creative Writing as a Fulbright Scholar for the Postgraduate Award at Cardiff University in Wales. While studying at Cardiff, she is continuing her research on biodegradable literature from her undergraduate studies and is conducting research on the role location has on literature and the creative writing process.

While a student at Rutgers University in Camden she earned a degree in English and Digital Studies with a minor in Writing. She was a member of the Honors College, Athenaeum, and of the International Honors English Society, Sigma Tau Delta. In addition to a number of campus commitments, she worked for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Center for the Humanities as a student researcher where she began her research on biodegradable literature, studying how materials interact with the creative content of literature and the role of authorship. Sophia’s poetry has been featured by The New York Poetry Society and she is a two-time award winner for The Young Writers short story contest.

Aside from her studies, Sophia enjoys experimenting with cinematography as a way to bring her short stories and book scenes to life. She is an avid Renaissance Faire attendant, and designs a new costume each year to compete in the annual photography contest. She loves going to the movie theaters, exploring new and interesting restaurants and coffee shops, and has a growing collection of antique and replica armory. She also loves collecting Renaissance paintings and old prints of ancient mythology books. She is currently working on her debut book series, The Unexpected Happenings of Abigail Lincolns, and enjoys traveling to the places in her book to recreate staged images and videos of different scenes.

I am an interdisciplinary researcher who specializes in writing, history, and environmentalism.
