Editorial Internship
Our editorial internships at The Secret Society of Poetry are 1 month, remote, and flexible. Our interns live worldwide and get to work at their own pace, making their own schedules. Although it is unpaid, you gain editorial and literacy marketing skills with minimum commitment, with room for creativity and individuality like none other. The point of this internship is help individuals gain experience in the often competitive field of journalism, marketing, publishing, etc. Our interns have gone on to get jobs in publishing, have anthologies published, and more. When you become an intern at The Secret Society of Poetry, you become a member of literature community excited to see you excel.

Our internship is unique due to our interns' community involvement. Our mission is to not only bring our interns into our community, but for them to bring us into theirs. This portion of the internship is proposed by the intern. Interns will spend their internship month proposing and planning an idea for community engagement, while the event usually falls after the internship ends. Some examples of community engagement from past interns include: hosting a table at a local literary festival, hosting a poetry reading, promoting our society with posters in libraries/bookshops/coffee shops, partnering with their schools' literary activities, and even writing a blog about the culture of their literary community. Considering our internship is international, the community involvement is an opportune way to engage with other writers worldwide.
