Lark Song

Little Love the flutter in your chest has grown silent.

Did you feel it, the moment my life flashed still?

The warmth of your candle soft gaze set ablaze, violent.

Hands resting gently, cradled over a dream grown distant, ill.

We used to dance to music in the silence, Like the tide and the moon till you withdrew,

And our hearts beat in their tandem cadence,

Once, twice, then mine, a lonely few.
